Favorite Food
While it may not be an easy task...are you up to the challenge? Can you distinguish between great and super great? Mom's cooking is exceptional (actually, that's an understatement)! But what's your fav? I could eat mom's banana bread with chocolate chips with some peanut butter every meal and every snack. That's how I distinguished mine! Give it your best shot!

As stated in the other, I am one who cannot distinguish between my favorites, and I would even add to this list the Mint Ice Cream Cake, and turtle cheesecake to this list as well. Its like picking between two different types of chocolate. Either way, it is chocolate, and very good.
ReplyDeleteI love mom's beef, noodles, and mashed taters combo. It's a magical meal. I think she buys the noodles, but the mix of the beef, potatoes, and noodles together is as luscious as luscious can be. A close second is the Fritos/PB treat she makes. There are many others. Actually it's an impossible question. Her bread pudding with lemon sauce is timeless. I'm not sure what timeless means, but it's good. And don't even get me started on quiche...I love you mom! (not just for culinary reasons)
ReplyDeleteBrian, Lindsay and I were chatting the other night... a new(er) favorite is the chicken, ranch, hot sauce "dip" that now appears on the table every time we're there. Of course it feels like a load of bricks is sitting in the stomach, but my brothers, it's oooohhhh so worth it.
ReplyDeleteOK, for the record, the buffalo dip has roots outside of mom (no offense, ma, but Shannon Wilson needs a shout-out as does my buddy Alan at Fuller).
ReplyDeleteAnd nothing can compete with chicken divan. Even though I actually like Eva's a little better (more curry...what can I say), chicken divan is actually the best meal on earth, let alone in mom's kitchen.
Plus anything deserty. Brian's right to move cheesecake up the scale.
Is this a lame excuse to get me to start cooking your favorite things? too late Abby and Jeff have a head start!!
ReplyDeleteWell Mom, if the shoe fits? I think it could have only been more obvious if the question was what dish do you want mom to make when we are all there in July! Can't wait!!! Remember, my vote was the banana bread!
